Formliner Repair

  1. Identify the damaged formliner: The first step in repairing a formliner is to identify the damaged area. Carefully inspect the formliner and look for any cracks, tears, or other damage.
  2. Gather materials: To repair a formliner, use materials such as a patching compound or adhesive, a putty knife, sandpaper, and a cloth or sponge.
  3. Clean the damaged area: Before beginning the repair, we make sure the damaged area is free of any debris or loose particles. We use a cloth or sponge to wipe away any dust or dirt.
  4. Sand the damaged area: We use sandpaper to gently sand the damaged area, creating a smooth surface for the repair material to adhere to. We are careful not to sand too aggressively as this can cause further damage.
  5. Apply the patching compound or adhesive: Depending on the type of damage, we either need to apply a patching compound or adhesive to the damaged area. We follow the instructions on the product carefully and apply the material evenly using a putty knife.
  6. Smooth out the repair: We use the putty knife to smooth out the repair material, ensuring that it is level and blends in with the surrounding area. If necessary, we add additional layers of material for a stronger repair.
  7. Let it dry: We allow the repair material to dry completely before moving on to the next step. This may take anywhere from a few hours to a full day, depending on the product used and the extent of the damage.
  8. Sand the repair: Once the repair material is dry, we use sandpaper to smooth out any rough edges or bumps. This will also help to blend the repair in with the rest of the formliner.
